Virtually all sizes/threads including British, Metric, Pipe etc. are available singly or as sets.

HSS Tap set consists of #1 Tap, #2 Tap and #3 [finishing] Tap of a specified thread. Round Dies available.

To tap a thread through plate or sheet material, only the #1 is required as it has a conical tip for starting, and a finishing thread further up the shaft.

To cut a thread in a blind hole, the drilled hole must be started with the #1 tap, and finished with the #3 tap. Whether the #2 tap is necessary depends upon the hole-depth and material. The #3 tap is also commonly used for cleaning and refinishing existing threads.

The most commonly required taps and dies are available from stock, but we can obtain all sizes within a couple
of days.

Virtually all sizes/threads including British, Metric, Pipe etc. are available.

Although there are many thread replacement tools on the market, the high quality and reasonable price of RECOIL makes the Each kit is supplied with a special oversize HSS tap, insertion tool, pack of stainless inserts and fitting instructions.

Inserts are available in three lengths, the most common being 1.5d [supplied with the kit]. "d" being the diameter
of the insert. Refill-packs of 1d, 1.5d and 2d are also available, denoting the ratio of length to diameter of the insert.
All inserts can be cut to a required length with a good sidecutter-tool.

The most commonly used kits and refill-packs are available from stock, and we can obtain all other sizes very quickly.
